Cllr. Jacqueline Harding

I have been living in Northiam now for two and a half years. Prior to this I lived in Ninfield for thirty years, where my husband and I converted a windmill. In 1989 I was invited by our GP to join the staff at the Ninfield Surgery, I retired from my position as Dispensary Manager after 25 years in March 2014, in order to help our daughters with their child care following their maternity leave.

I have been involved with community and school over many years, these include:-
  • Editing and producing the Kingston village monthly newsletter. (We lived in Kingston near Lewes for four and a half years prior to Ninfield).
  • Playgroup Secretary Kingston
  • PTA secretary Iford and Kingston  village school near Ninfield village school.
  • Parent Governor Ninfield school.
  • Social Committee Secretary (PTA) Claverham Community College.
  • Parent Governor Claverham Community College.
During my years in Ninfield I participated in fund raising events for the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research, Stroke Association and RNIB, as well as community events and club activities such as the village carnival, drama club and brownies.
Although I'm still have a busy lifestyle, I have welcomed the opportunity of helping in affairs of the Parish Council and to acquire a better understanding of the local issues that affect and impact on the residents of my neighbourhood and community.
